Learning at Work Week 2025: Equip your workforce with skills to drive productivity

Learning at Work Week 2025

A recent report from The Open University found that one in four employers believe their productivity has declined over the past five years. Additionally, two in five employers noted that a skills shortage is negatively impacting productivity.

OpenLearn and The Open University, national partners of Learning at Work Week (LaWW), understand the importance of training, learning, and education. This is why we offer all of our OpenLearn resources for free, making us one of the world’s leading providers of free learning.

We recognise that learning occurs at different times and places for everyone, but we firmly believe that training your workforce, upskilling and reskilling employees, and enhancing productivity are essential for the ongoing success of any business. This is where we can help.

We have already shared The Open University’s Powering Up Productivity report, which reveals findings related to the skills gap and declining productivity in the UK. OpenLearn offers free courses in areas that drive productivity, such as digital skills, wellbeing, and leadership, which you can access through our Introduction to Learning at Work Week page.

By registering for free access to our exclusive LaWW collection, you can also benefit from a new series of articles on:

  • How to say ‘no’ at work
  • Delivering constructive criticism
  • Raising issues in the workplace
  • Providing feedback on shared documents and projects

These are vital skills in any work environment.

You can, of course, also explore OpenLearn for yourself, where you will find over 900 free, bite-sized, and flexible courses, including more than 80 badged courses that contribute towards learners’ continuing professional development.
